Candles and torches will illuminate on Saturday the Golden Gallery in Gandia for the inauguration of the works of restoration carried out in this jewel of the Valencian Baroque, built in order to commemorate the canonization of Saint Francis Borgia. The event was organized by the Foundation Palau Ducal dels Borja, formed by representatives of the Society of Jesus, the Town Hall of Gandia, the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the University of Valencia and representatives of the Holy Week Guild. The Ministry of Public Works has invested one million euros in the works of restoration, through the 1% cultural plan.

Attendees will be greeted in the Bamboo Garden, lit with torches, and they will be guided through the Golden Gallery in groups of fifty people to admire the magnificent canvases painted by Gaspar de la Huerta. Visitors will also be able to see the roof terrace from where they can contemplate the river Serpis and the exterior front of the illuminated Golden Gallery.
