The size of the room is considerable but the diaphragm arches and the ashlar (made of artificial stone) which decorate the room distort the overall view of the area. This work from the early 20th century contains one of the oldest pavings of the building. These ceramics are called “chained” (encadenado) of Moorish origin. They probably date back to the 15th century. In the centre of the room and close to the arches, we find remains of the paving from the 18th century, such as the fleur-de-lis arranged as if it was a frieze. The room's windows, which were previously Moorish, were defaced in the 17th century and were replaced by baroque balconies. |
