Also called New Work, the Gold Gallery is one of the most important renovations carried out in the building.

Finished at the beginnings of the 18th century, it was begun in order to commemorate the Saint Francis’ canonisation. The tenth Duke built it above a terrace, which looked onto to the current Cistern Courtyard. It is made up of a succession of five rooms, separated by several carved
portico, gilded and decorated with rocks and other elements typical of the time they represent. This recurrence of porticoes and brightness contribute to a theatrical sensation or projection.
